The latest in the TV circuit is the Plasma TV. This TV has a flat panel display. One can find many tiny cells which has noble gas in them held together by two glass panels. When electricity is passed through the unit the gas in the cell gets turned on and emits light due to the phosphorous in them. The plasma video display was invented in 1964. The display on the plasma TV is very bright and has a wide color gamut. The total thickness of the television is only 10 cm. the power consumption varies due to the picture content.
